Does the R41 support Vodafone's 700 High Band?

No R41 unfortunately only supports the lower portion of the 700MHz band, so is suited to Telstra and Optus for this band.

Can I use the R41 for Stationary Building Applications

ROAM R41 was designed for vehicle applications so the coverage area is expected to be in and around your vehicle. However, there is nothing stopping you purchasing a mains power supply and using it to cover a room or two in your home or office. If connected to an external server antenna, coverage up to 200m² is supported with 100% isolation between donor and server antennas.

Does the R41 support Carrier Switching?

Yes ROAM R41 supports carrier switching. This will enable you to switch between Telstra, Optus and Vodafone once operators have approved the product.

Can I power R41 from 24V?

No only 12V is supported (with a 11.5 15V range). You can use a Victron 24 12V down converter for 24V usage (sold separately).

What does Band 26 support offer?

The ROAM R41 supports the future 850MHz (B26) expansion band. This will enable Telstra to offer possible 5G coverage to rural and marginal areas from 1 st July 2024, when the 3G network is turned off and the spectrum can be used.

Do I need to ground the R41?

Whilst the R41 power socket has a cable to ground, it is highly recommended to use the grounding point to earth the casing. Each vehicle install is different and by using a grounding cable you will be protecting and extending the life of the product.

What does the higher uplink power mean?

Compared to the GO G31 Mobile the new R41 has up to 60% more uplink power. Often your phone has signal, but cannot communicate back to the tower, by increasing the uplink power your phone should be able to make a call further away from the cell tower than the G31.

Can I install the R41 outdoors?

ROAM R41 has an IP54 rating, meaning that it is not waterproof and needs to be installed ideally indoors. For outdoor installations a waterproof enclosure can be used, as long the internal temperature remains below 60 C.
